August is Make A Will Month
(left) Paulie is currently available for fostering or adoption through House Rabbit Society.
For so many rabbits, like Paulie (pictured), House Rabbit Society is a lifeline, and your thoughtful estate planning can ensure this vital work continues.
When Paulie arrived at House Rabbit Society earlier this summer, he had an infected mass on his right leg. He was transferred from a shelter that wasn't able to provide him with the care he needed, after he was surrendered there. We suspect he was taken to the shelter when his family couldn't afford his veterinary treatment.
But thanks to supporters like you, we were able to bring Paulie to HRS and get him the care he needed.
Paulie had his mass removal surgery done at our in-house surgery suite by our expert medical team. The mass turned out to be benign, and Paulie turned out to be a rambunctious rabbit. Now he’s healing in a foster home, learning to trust people again, and ready to find a new family who will never give up on him.
This August, we invite you to celebrate National Make-A-Will Month by reflecting on what matters most: protecting the people, pets, and causes that bring you joy. Creating a will is an empowering act of care. It allows you to:
Make decisions that reflect your values and passions
Protect your loved ones (including your furry companions!)
Ensure your wishes are honored with clarity and peace of mind
And through a planned gift to House Rabbit Society, you can create a legacy of kindness, one that helps save rabbit lives and supports our educational and medical programs.
We’ve partnered with FreeWill, a free and easy online resource that allows you to create or update your legal will in 20 minutes or less. Including a gift to House Rabbit Society is optional, but many supporters choose to dedicate a small percentage of their estate to keep bunnies hopping forward. Take the first step today and create your will at freewill.com/houserabbitsociety.
