Rabbits like Paulie, Anchovy, and Snow need you
Paulie is currently in a foster-to-adopt home after receiving medical care at House Rabbit Society. Paws crossed his foster family decides to keep him!
We’re thrilled to be participating in the 11th annual Clear the Shelters campaign, a nationwide effort to find loving homes for animals and support the organizations that care for them.
From August 1 through August 31, donations made through the Clear the Shelters Fund can be directed right to House Rabbit Society, helping us provide food, medical care, and support for our shelter rabbits. This is a powerful opportunity to amplify your impact and be part of a movement that’s saving lives all across the country, starting right here at home.
Your generosity helps Paulie, Anchovy, Snow, and countless other rabbits get the second chances they need and deserve.
When Paulie arrived at House Rabbit Society last month, he had an infected mass on his right leg. He was transferred from a shelter that wasn't able to provide him with the care he needed, after he was surrendered there. We suspect he was taken to the shelter when his family couldn't afford his veterinary treatment.
But thanks to donors like you, we were able to bring Paulie to HRS and get him the care he needed.
Paulie had his mass removal surgery done at our in-house surgery suite by our expert medical team. The mass turned out to be benign, and Paulie turned out to be a rambunctious rabbit. Now he’s healing in a foster home, learning to trust people again, and ready to find a new family who will never give up on him.
Anchovy was adopted from House Rabbit Society last month and has settled in well to his new home!
When he came to House Rabbit Society, both of Anchovy’s ears were badly infected. He needed surgery on each one; a delicate, multi-stage procedure to widen his ear canals so they could drain properly. It was a long, complex process that required expert surgical skills and weeks of dedicated aftercare, including daily cleanings and medications.
Slowly but surely, Anchovy improved, and he’s finally healthy and comfortable for the first time in a long time. We'll continue to provide him with the care he needs for the rest of his life through the Golden Ears program, which gives adopters free veterinary care, vaccines, and medications. Your generosity makes lifesaving programs like these possible.
Do you have room in your home and heart for a sweet senior rabbit? Snow is available for adoption from House Rabbit Society and we would love for him to finally find a loving home!
Snow has been through a lot, and he’s still waiting for his happily ever after. At nearly 10 years old, Snow is the oldest rabbit in our care. He’s gentle, quiet, and endlessly sweet. He's the kind of rabbit who just wants a soft spot to nap and someone to love him.
Snow may be a senior, but his story isn’t over. He’s just waiting for his next chapter and somewhere he can enjoy his golden years comfortably. With your support, we're able to provide Snow with a safe place, as long as it takes for him to find a loving home.
While much of our lifesaving work happens at our facility in Richmond, California, our impact reaches far beyond the Bay Area. Your support not only powers adoption and low-cost medical programs, but it also fuels education and advocacy around the world. From training for veterinary professionals to free internationally attended Zoom classes and multilingual care resources, House Rabbit Society is working every day to create a safer, more compassionate world for rabbits.
And with your help, we can do even more! Please donate now if you're able. Help us make a lasting difference for rabbits in need. Every gift, no matter the size, helps build a brighter future for our rabbit friends.
