Join the HRS volunteer team
We offer both onsite and remote volunteer opportunities. Below are just a few of the volunteer opportunities we have available:
Administrative Support: Assist staff with data entry, filing, and fundraising support.
Animal care: Cleaning rabbit pens, sweeping/disinfecting floors, and keeping the building free of dust bunnies.
Hop Shop Assistant: Welcome guests to the facility, ring up orders, sticker inventory, restock, and keep the shop clean.
Outreach Support: Spread rabbit education and information to the public through local and community events.
Online class host: Present educational information to the public over Zoom.
Rabbit Socializer (Foster): Provide a HRS rabbit with a clean indoor space, food, enrichment, exercise, and love to prepare them for a loving home.
We have specific volunteer opportunities for high school and college students looking to fulfill community service hours during breaks. Fill out the volunteer questionnaire to get started.
For those in a pre-vet program, veterinary school, RVT school, or currently working in the field, please complete a questionnaire and we will be in contact with you. Availability on Wednesdays is required.

Requirements
All volunteers must be 16 or older
Must volunteer a minimum of 4 hours per month for a minimum of 4 months (fostering exempt)
Have access to email and subscribe to HRS’ e-newsletter
Optional purchase a volunteer t-shirt ($28)n
If you have a rabbit at home it is preferred that they are vaccinated for RHDV2 but not currently required.
