Rescue Coordination
Rescue coordination takes a network of dedicated individuals and organizations working together to share resources, skillsets and knowledge. House Rabbit Society’s rescue efforts are coordinated by our Shelter Manager whom oversees our intakes, outcomes and overally wellness of the rabbits in our care. Rescue coordination makes it possible for space to be freed at a local shelter by HRS transferring a rabbit into care, evaluating their health and behavior and setting them on a course for success. Some rabbits find adopted homes quickly while other need a little HRS TLC to get them well enough, confident enough to find their new families. House Rabbit Society has 35+ municipal shelter partners who work together to help save rabbit lives.
If you work for a municipal shelter and have a rabbit that you feel needs more time, medical care, or behavioral support, reach out to us at rabbit-center@houserabbit.org to get connected with our Shelter Manager.
