Making a Portable Rabbit Pen for Travel

Using wire grid cube storage panels and Velcro strips, you can customize the pen to any size you want and design it to fold for traveling and storage. The panels are typically 12 x12 inch or 14 x 14 inch.  The best size for making a pen is the 14 x 14 panel.

By overlapping the panels and securing with Velcro strips, you can increase the width and height up to approximately 26 inches.  Continue adding panels until you have the desired size. Secure panels side by side (instead of overlapping) at the spots you want to fold the pen. A roll of Velcro with a width of ¾ inches is best for this project. It’s adjustable, reuseable and can be cut to any desired length.

In addition to a travel pen, you can also make pet gates, indoor rabbit runs, and with a few additional items, a large travel crate. And when they’re no longer needed, they can be stored or disassembled.
